Real Estate in the GTA is going up, with multiple offers and bidding wars now being the norm.  Durham Region is no exception and Ajax is the hottest market in Durham. 

Looking at the market stats for April, the Average house price is up 16.7% year over year.  Last April the average house in Ajax sold for $421,103 and this April it sold for $491,418.  The average detached house sold for $548,917, while the average freehold townhouse sold for $392,726.

These rising prices are being pushed by a strong demand by buyers.  This is evidenced by the fact that the average house sold for 102% of the asking price.  This is the highest of any town/city in Durham Region.

The average house in Durham region took 15 days to sell.  In Ajax it was only 11 days, that is the lowest days on market in the region.

The numbers in 2014 were strong and they have only gotten stronger.  If you are thinking of selling you can get top dollar and get it quickly.  If you are thinking of buying you may want to act fast, so you don’t get priced out of the market.
